Dr. Jackson is the mother of four children, Charity, Lester IV, Leah and Johnathan.  She is married to State Senator Lester G. Jackson, III who has been a dentist for over 25 years.

Dr. Lillian Williams, Podiatrist

Picture
Dr. Lillian Williams grew up in Cleveland Heights, Ohio after relocation with her parents from Washington D.C.  Her first real exposure to the medical profession was as a library assistant after graduating from high school.  After attending practical nursing school, working on the peds unit, and having two of her four children, she knew she wanted more.

Her journey has been a long one but well worth it.  She attended college part time while raising her four children.  After obtaining her undergraduate degree and four more years of podiatric medical school, she closed that chapter of her life only to start a new one.  She chose podiatry because it allowed her to have the best of both worlds.  Podiatry allowed her to enjoy a well balanced family life as well as a profession without the demands of allopathic medicine.  While in school she developed a passion for challenges of the diabetic foot.  After completing her residency a decision was made to relocate to Savannah, Georgia because of the large diabetic population.  She has made it her personal mission to have a positive impact on the Savannah community outreach programs.  Dr. Williams believes that if a person knows better they just may do better.  It is nothing for her to meet a perfect stranger and strike up a conversation about the importance of good foot health.  For Dr. Williams, education plays a very important role in spreading the word on achieving optimum health soul to sole.  Not long after her relocation here to Savannah, Dr. Williams volunteered her services to the Union Mission for seven years.  Her passion is evident in many of her accomplishments such as a United Way Recognition Award for “Saving Soles,” Gafford Ethics Academic Award at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, T.V. Channel 5 “One of a Kind” Award in Cleveland Ohio, and a recipient of one of “The 25 Most Outstanding African American Women of Cleveland” Award.

Dr. Williams is married with four children and three grandchildren.  In her not to often spare time, she enjoys watching Law and Order and home improvements projects.  She is sure to make time to return to Ohio to visit her grandchildren Da’Ron, Dylan, and Devyn because to her there is nothing like “granny duty” except “mommy duty.”  She continues to provide the best foot care in the Low Country while preventing as many diabetic foot amputations as possible.
